The Church and tax exemption.
The parish is a blog i like alot. Take alook at his column on why the church should revoke their own right to tax exemption. This is an opinion I have shared for a long time… the only way the govt can stop meddeling with our affairs if we stop telling them what we’re doing, and the only way the govt. will sit for that is if we pay them to.
That aside, I sincerely believe that we don’t deserve or have right to tax exemption. I don’t need any tax cut at the end of the year for doing what God called me to do, in fact i would argue that getting monitary benefit for obeying God’s command, especially from a goverment institution, is immoral. I know yoder has some badass things to say about “Rendering unto Ceasar” I’ll try to look those up and expand upon this thought in more detail later.
